I have been enthralled by the arts from a very early age. I studied art and drama and having studied the grand masters and their paintings through the ages, it is fascinating to see how their understanding of light and form has translated into today's digital photography world. Some terms we use today such as “Rembrandt lighting” references their work.

My electrical engineering background has helped me get the best out of technology. I like to get to grips with how a machine works.

A camera is a machine, a tool, the product of which will improve with improving understanding of how the machine works.

The artistic side of photography is not like the technical side. We need to set time aside to slow down, take in and enjoy the wonderful creation that God has surrounded us with and let the creative juices flow.

Sunset light seems to change slower than sunrises, and setting up in daylight is easier than the dark, advice I give other landscape photographers starting out.

Like everything in life, the more you learn, you realise the less you know, If you think you can stop learning you may as well give up; and that desire, persistence and practice will produce quality results.

I am working hard to produce work that is as much about feeling as the aesthetics of the photograph

After all - Photography is art.
